Ramping High Voltage

Operating Voltages

  • The DAQloads run at -400V

Turning on HV

  1. Make sure that the HV cables are correctly connected.
  2. Turn on the Keithley power supply
  3. Set the compliance current to 500nA
    • press the edit button twice
    • the up and down arrows surrounding the "auto-range" button change the scale
    • use the up and down arrows by the V, I, R buttons to adjust the value.
  4. Turn on the output.
  5. Change the output voltage in steps of -10 Volts at a time.
    • press the edit button once
    • use the edit arrows to decrease the values in the tens place.
    • The current should spike (on the scale of tens of nano Amps). wait for the current to settle then take another step
    • Keep going until the voltage reaches minus 400V
